Phil Paul Call is a writer, producer, director of story-first creative content with a practical streak.
 

Phil Paul Call is a veteran of the unscripted world, with credits spanning ESPN2, FS1, Discovery, The CW, Showtime, History, Science Channel, TV One, and more. After years navigating the high-stakes, fast-moving world of factual television, he saw an opportunity: the industry needed smarter, leaner, high-quality content—and nimble teams that could actually deliver it.
 

So in 2020, he founded 4:44 Production + Development, partnering with producer Mitchell K. Loo and distribution pro Alex Fraser, they launched I Met My Murderer Online, a 26-episode true crime anthology now airing worldwide.
 

The success of Murderer proved their model: premium content doesn’t have to come with a premium price tag. 4:44 develops, produces, and delivers story-driven series that networks trust and audiences binge. They’ve since produced two more series totaling 52 episodes, with a growing slate of returnable IP.
 

Up next: I Met My Murderer Online: Season 2, plus I’ll Believe It When I See It, a 10-episode sci-fi series set to premiere on A+E UK in Fall 2025.
 

Not stopping at screens, 4:44 has also expanded into podcasting. The IMMMO podcast has earned over 8 million impressions and 1.4 million downloads, ranking in the top 1.5% globally.
 

With a sharp eye on audience shifts and budget realities, Phil and the 4:44 team are building the next generation of production—story-first, cost-effective, globally appealing, and endlessly scalable.

Producing has always come naturally to me, the desire to see an idea come to life. Nothing is as uniquely complex and satisfying as putting together a show and I will always seek new ways inject quality, efficiency, and fulfillment into my work.
 

My Career So Far…
 

As a non-fiction producer, I’ve already sold, produced, and own my first (of many) tv series called I Met My Murderer Online currently airing in syndication along with an accompanying podcast.

Along with building 444 into the biggest name in True Crime, I’ve also created a new company that will focus on

my scripted ambitions. Challenger Studios will become a powerhouse in Asian-American led content with 4 original series already developed.

Sadly, Alex passed away on January 20, 2025 and he will be missed forever by 4:44. Alex was brilliant, resourceful and smart as a whip. More than a business partner, he was also a dear friend.
